Monoprix – Nouvelle Vague

Music for an advertising campaign

Monoprix asked us to compose the music for the launch campaign of its summer collection.

The idea was to create a piece à la Françoise Hardy or Nancy Sinatra, with yéyé and sixties tones. We opted for a classical guitar – bass – drums arrangement. The guitar has been passed through a vibrato pedal to obtain a surf-rock sound. We also added a slightly detuned piano and played a vintage Philicorda organ from the 70s. Then we created a vocal melodic line to convey an emotion between travel and nostalgia.

We finally mastered the title with a magnetic tape simulator to accentuate the retro side of this song.
